BAPTISM!!!

Image
Letter from Oct 30 So Martin got baptized!! There were two baptisms in the ward on Saturday, Jesusa and Martin. one for the ward and one for the Spanish Group.  It was crazy how many little miracles happened to lead up to one huge miracle.  We showed up for the one at 4 for Jesusa and realized that there was no underwear for Martin to wear for his at 5. Elder Anderson and I started freaking out at this point because we knew that Satan would do all that he could to stop this baptism or make things go wrong, but we weren't gonna let him win and we knew that God would do everything he could to help us make this baptism happen. We talked to the Ward Mission Leader and he said he had the underwear at his house. We had to borrow the Zone Leaders car because the other Elders we live with had our car somewhere else. We drove the the ward mission leaders house which was about 15-20 minutes away and we got there and someone walked out of his house with the underwear in a bag ready to...

El Libro de Mormon

Letter from Oct 23 The weeks just get better and better. Honestly this week just flew by and was kinda a blur and I don't remember a lot of it. I think this is because I am still trying to get used to the area and all of the people and speaking spanish and ya know, all the other stuff missionaries do. One thing that I have loved is that Elder Anderson and I are waking up at 5:30 to do our daily workout just so we can have 3 hours of personal study time. It is the greatest thing ever because you can get lost in reading from the Book of Mormon and get so much out of it. I really do love the Book of Mormon and my testimony of it has grown so much. I don't even know how to explain how much I love it. this weeks letter is super short, but there are some great things that are going to happen this next week. I love you all muchly and hope you have the best week ever. Elder Sager rockin the grandpa glasses

Letter from Oct 16 This week was transfers and as you heard last week I was heading to somehwere called Rattlesnake Mountain. The City we are in is Called Grandview and boy.. the view is pretty grand. You can see two volcanoes from here and they are quite nice. They are huge and now are covered in snow. No snow here yet but there was frost on our car this morning, it was 30 degrees, I am so excited for the snow!!! So in a lesson with one of mine and Elder Anderson's Investigators Martin, and I was saying something about how the Gospel can really bless our lives and I corrected myself and said something different. He told me that the first time I said it right. So from now on I am going to just talk and not worry if I think it is wrong or not because they will understand me either way. So our investagor was supposed to be Baptized last Saturday but had a problem with one of the questions, we dont think he really understood what it meant, so President White is going to come and i...

Letter from Oct 9 Hello again, I have got some great news and some bad news... the great news is that I am being transferred out of Walla Walla and I am headed to Rattlesnake Mountain Spanish in West Richland. serving with Elder Anderson. I have heard a lot of great things about it, and it has a cool name. I have really loved my time here in Walla Walla and with Elder Sanchez and I am so excited to hear of the tons of success he has in this area with his brand new missionary!! He is training and is super super excited because there are some great things that are happening in Walla Walla. The bad news is that I am leaving Walla Walla and elder Sanchez.....:( I know that Heavenly Father answers my prayers. This last week, Elder Sanchez and I were out tracting in College Place late and night. It was probably 8:50 when I said a prayer to myself asking for Heavenly Father to place someone in our path before we had to head in for the night. In my prayer I said, "I have such strong ...

Letter from October 4 WALLA WALLA SPANISH IS BLOWING UP RIGHT NOW!!! What a great week and a half! General Conference, Temple Trip, and 4 PEOPLE ON DATE FOR BAPTISM! woot woot!  also my last week of training Soo Conference as a missionary is something else, especially when it is in Spanish! Elder Sanchez and I had 4 investigators (3 of which are on date) come watch Conference with us in the Stake Center. Pedro and Agripina Ayana and Amber, Roger and their daughter Audrey. I love Conference with all of my heart and I am so happy to have had these people here trying to find happiness listen to the Apostles of God. Pedro, Amber and Roger are preparing for baptism. I cant really pick a favorite talk from Conference because they are all so powerful. But if i had to pick, it would be....... President Uchtdorf's talk from the Priesthood session, he said,  "Darkness reduces our ability to see clearly. It dims our vision of that which was at one time plain and clear. When we ar...

Letter from September 25 What a wonderful week!!! We had lots of success this week. W had 3 investigators at Church, 2 of those people were new investigators and 1 of them is now on date to be baptized on November 4th!!! We sre hoping to move this date up because he was really excited to be at church and accepted to be baptized right away! His name is Pedro Anaya and his wife is Agrapina. Pedro got in a huge car accident a while back and is the only person who survived it. He was in a coma for about 9 hours and says that he saw everything from the picture where Christ comes to the Americas. Ever since his accident, he wanted to find someone who agreed with what he saw and when we showed him that picture, he got super excited and wanted to learn more about the Book of Mormon and our religion. After we got done talking to Pedro and Agrapina On Saturday, we had a dinner appointment with the Florez Family. They both served in the Salt Lake City Mission and are great members. We walked ...
