FELIZ NAVAIDAD!!!!!

Image
Letter from Dec 26 Christmas time as a missionary definitely spiritual. Focusing on the real reason of Christmas really made it special, knowing how hard it was for Mary and Joseph and knowing how humble they needed to be makes me want to work harder and help other people know of the Savior and his birth and life. Also it was so good to see my family through Skype!!! I loved chatting with them and seeing them all was so fun. This week was FULL of Miracles and tender mercies. More and more great things are happening over here in Grandview, especially for Ricardo and Sujey. For the first time in Ricardo's life, he has had a Christmas with a Christmas Tree, presents, and warmth in their brand new Trailer!!!! on Thursday he had a meeting with the Bishop to talk about getting money for the trailer, and since Sujey is a member they were able to receive the money!!! They got the Check from the bishop the next night and then went and bought a brand new trailer on Saturday that isnt in...

Almost Christmas...

Image
Letter fron Dec  18 I dont know what happened this week because it felt like a whole year long. It dragged on for some reason, maybe because Elder Anderson and I are getting sick.. I don't know though. Highlight of this week, Ricardo is getting along really well. We have yet to set a baptismal date with him because there is some divorce things that need to go down with his last wife and then he needs to get married with Sujey. He has committed to a member of the Stake Presidency that he will come to church everyweek and wouldnt miss a day before he is baptized. He is changing his life around while meeting with us. I love him and his family so much. I dont have much more to write about so I will share a scripture from somewhere i read this week. 3 Nephi 18:19-20,24: 19) Therefore ye must always pray unto the Father in my name; 20) And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you. 24 The...

I dont know where time has gone....

Letter from Dec 11 I dont know where time has gone.. I cant believe that Christmas is in just 2 weeks. I love being a missionary and love serving the Lord. So not much has happened this week at all. We went out and worked for 48.5 hours this week and even stayed in for 4 hours because Elder Anderson has been a little sick. But I can definately feel all that time, I am tired. When someone is Gospel tired, it is good. Another update on Martin, He blessed the sacrament for the first time!!!!! I am so happy to see how much he has progressed since he was baptized in October. We are training him to become one of the strongest members ever. He was reading in the Book of Mormon the other day right before we came over to read with him and he asked us if he could give a talk in Sacrament again. He is such an awesome guy and i can really feel the spirit so strong whenever he bares his testimony to us. Sorry this email is super short, Ill try better to do some exciting things this week. ...

Priesthood Part 2

Image
Letter from Dec 4 This week, there was a Nativity showcase in West Richland and we were given the opportunity to usher and greet people at it. It was really quite neat to see all the different Nativity sets from all around the world. Every classroom in the Church was packed full of them. It was cool. about 10 minutes after we had left the showcase, we got a call from Ricardo and Sujey saying that they were just pulling up to the church and were wondering if we were gonna be there. But Sadly we werent able to be there with them. Last week Elder Anderson were teaching Ricardo and Sujey and they told us that he was having some bounce back pains from the frostbite he had last year from working out in the fields. After they told us, Sujey had told him a little bit about Priesthood blessing and shared some experiences that she has had from receiving them. He liked hearing them but didn't really know if they worked or if we were all just crazy. We asked him if he wanted a blessing and...

#LightTheWorld

Image
Letter from Nov 27 This week was FULL of miracles, like literally. I was stuffed full on thanksgiving, Martin got the Priesthood, and priesthood blessings. Thanksgiving was awesome, i love pigging out and eating all the food i can. Especially turkey, I love turkey. On thanksgiving we were asked not to go out Tracting so we went around sharing #LightTheWorld and offering our service to people. It was a wonderful day. We ate dinner with some members and got to look at some really cool cars, They had a 58 Chevy Camaro and a 28 Chevy. After dinner we had a Zone council and talked a lot about how we can use Light the World and transition into teaching a Gospel Principle. If you havent had the chance to watch the Light The World video, go do it right now. It shows us that one thing that we need to do to come closer to Christ is to serve, and who doesnt love serving other people. I am going to be doing the daily service projects and would hope that y'all do them to. Serving just makes...

Transfers...Again!

Image
Letter from Nov 20 I honestly can not believe that this transfer is already over with. I swear it just started, but nope, it came and now is gone. Good news though, I am staying in Grandview with Elder Anderson for his last transfer in the mission. I am so stoked to be able to stay here and get to work. Someone please tell me where November has gone... This week hasn't been very eventful but the work here in Grandview should be picking up pretty soon, Update on Martin who was baptized 3ish weeks ago, He is going strong and is super happy. He has an interview with the bishop this week to get his temple recommend to go to the temple to do Baptisms for the dead. The ward is planning a trip for all the recent converts from the last year to go and they will be going on December 1st! We have been working really hard with Martin to do family history work so he can do the work for his parents and grandparents! He is one top notch member and is really excited to be able to go into th...
