Letter  from August 28 Wow I can not believe that I have been in the field for 1 transfer. It is amazing how fast time flies. So transfers, I am staying in Walla Walla and I am receiving a new companion. His name is Elder Sanchez and that is all I really know about him. I am so excited to get to know him tomorrow! My current companion is dying. he is headed back home...:'(  tis really sad but I am so excited for him to start his new journey back in the good ol state of Utah. I have really loved my time with Elder Stevens. He is one amazing Elder. So something awesome happened this week, we finally got someone on date for baptism!!!!!!! His name is Geraldo Gomez and he seems super solid. He is the uncle of a part member family that we used to teach and has heard really good things about the church! We taught him the Plan of Salvation and he was really excited to hear that everybody gets the chance to learn and do what he is doing right now with us in the life after this. He...

The Hand of the Lord

Letter from August 22 As all of you probably know, the Solar Eclipse was yesterday and it was pretty cool looking. We were having Zone Conference going on and they let us take a 45 minute break to go out and see it. Elder Ririe (the vehicle coordinator) brought a welding mask to look at the sun and scared a lot of people with it. I felt like a robot with it on. Anyways, it was fun.  We had some amazing people come speak to us at our Zone Conference, Elder Anthony D Perkins and Elder John C Pingree of the Seventy taught us some great things. I got to have an Interview With Elder Perkins and he just got to know me and about my family and then he gave me some tips on how I can make the mission better. There was one question that I had going into this conference, it was.. What can I do to feel and to see the Saviors hand in my life?  The one thing that I realized that i could to do is Serve other people. In order to see the hand of the Lord in my life, i need to be the Hand of t...

Following the Holy Ghost

Letter from August 14 This week has been a fun one. My Spanish is coming along.. I am understanding more and more each day and am trying to speak more as well. I am not quite a full Mexican yet but I hope to be there pretty soon. So I had a pretty cool thing happen to me, I was on exchanges with Elder Tuliloa and we were out walking trying to find people to talk to. I looked in my planner and saw there was a referral that someone had given us a week ago and so we decided to try to find him. We hopped in the car and drove for a bit. Our GPS said that the address was not a valid address and so me being the new missionary said that I could find it because I know how to get around my area super well. So we drove a little more and ended up on the long and straight road that was leading us out into the fields. At the point we knew there was no chance in us finding this guy so I turned down this one street and we pulled over and said a prayer. I had a feeling that we needed to get...

Letter from Aug 7 Wow time flies by when you are doing something that you love. Being a missionary is honestly the best thing that I could be right now. I am currently upside down on the loopty loop of a roller coaster, screaming with joy with both hands in the air. There is no other place that i would rather be than here in Walla Walla, Washington. This email is probably going to be short because I am still trying to figure out my time for emailing. This week has been a good one, We received 3 new investigators this week and I am loving teaching the people in Spanish. We had exchanges this week with the Zone Leaders and it was pretty fun. I was with Elder Madsen and we were covering the Spanish area, and he doesnt speak any spanish. So I was in charge. This was a really good experience because it forced me to speak more and try to have a normal conversation with people because my companion wasnt there to do that for us. I definitely learned a lot from this because I know that ...

Week 2 in Walla Walla!

Letter from July 3 1 Sorry about last week, I didn't have much time to email. I was trying to figure out how to do it on a prehistoric laptop that was bigger than me, the computer crashed and took up all my emailing time. pero, esta bien. Okay so this week has been crazy. Zone conference was this week and it was SOO long but SOO good. We drove about an hour south into Pendleton, Oregon and were there from about 8-5 sitting and being filled with so much great information about finding or being "Fishers or Men". There are so many things that we can do to reel people in, you catch some, and others get away. When you do get that one fish, you have got to keep the line tight and always be strong when pulling them in. On Thursday, we held a Noche de Hogar con las hermanas. We invited 3 families and none showed up. The Hermanas had a family come and we still had fun. The theme was "What is our purpose in life", we showed a couple videos and talked about it for a ...
