Christmas time as a missionary definitely spiritual. Focusing on the real reason of Christmas really made it special, knowing how hard it was for Mary and Joseph and knowing how humble they needed to be makes me want to work harder and help other people know of the Savior and his birth and life. Also it was so good to see my family through Skype!!! I loved chatting with them and seeing them all was so fun.

This week was FULL of Miracles and tender mercies. More and more great things are happening over here in Grandview, especially for Ricardo and Sujey. For the first time in Ricardo's life, he has had a Christmas with a Christmas Tree, presents, and warmth in their brand new Trailer!!!! on Thursday he had a meeting with the Bishop to talk about getting money for the trailer, and since Sujey is a member they were able to receive the money!!! They got the Check from the bishop the next night and then went and bought a brand new trailer on Saturday that isnt infested with Rats and has a working heater! and they also Came to Sacrament meeting on Christmas Eve and enjoyed the talk and songs performed and Enjoyed a very merry and white Christmas. He is still some time away from being baptized becasue of divorce with his ex-wife and then get married to Sujey, but after all of that goes down, He promised us that he would be baptized. No matter how long it takes, he IS going to be baptized because he has seen of the miracles and the happiness that comes from living the Gospel.

okay so now a funny story...  on Christmas Eve we were driving out in the boonies of Grandview/Prosser and it was really snowy. we were coming up on the road that we needed to turn on, as i was turning the steering wheel, nothing happened, and we drove straight into a ditch. The ditch was about 3 feet deep and super icy and full of snow. We got out and tried pushing but there was no way that we were getting out of there... I said a prayer and asked for help and about 5 minutes later, two big trucks pulled up and strapped on their tow strap and pulled us right out of the ditch. There was no damage to the car and we continued to go caroling and headed to dinner with the Bishop. I am Grateful for the power of prayer and also for the real meaning of Christmas, giving your love and your service to other people.
and dont worry, we are all safe. no injuries to the Missionaries or the cars. all is well.

Also next week i will also be emailing on Tuesday because of the New Year.

Letter from Nov 6 This week went by way too fast. I just want time to slow down. it was Halloween and that is weird because that means Thanksgiving is this month and then it is Christmas next month. Wowzers. I swear I just entered into the MTC.. Grandview is a fun place, kinda sketchy but it is great! Halloween was this week and that was pretty fun cuz people though it was weird that people were knocking on their doors really early for trick or treating and realized that it was just a couple of young men knocking on the door trying to give them the sweetest treat they will ever receive. lots of people let us in and listen, and they are some of the nicest people here in Grandview. And it snowed here. it is pretty cold, i think this week the average has been around like 38 maybe, and on Saturday to Monday it snowed! It was a baby snow and nothing compared to Utah snow but hey, snow is snow. COLD. This week I finished reading the Book of Mormon, and I know that it is a true book ...

The Great Outdoors

Letter from May 29 What a great week full of great things like the Great outdoors. We had zone conferences this week which were a little different than normal zone conferences, Not a single missionary was wearing a White shirt and tie. The meeting was at the Timbers camp over near Dayton, WA. Who knew that there was actually green here in this part of Washington!! It was beautiful and I felt at home being out in the Woods sitting in a camp chair wearing Jeans and a t-shirt. We had 4 different stations where we would listen to them talk about Gospel topics, like Revelation, coping with difficulties in the mission, and working with our Ward leaders. It was just great being outside in the woods in God's creation and feeling the spirit super strongly. So just last night we found someone named Heilmer, well... He walked right into our hands. He just moved into a home with one of the members about a week ago and is just getting thrown into the Gospel. They took him to the temple and...

Future Missionaries

Letter from May 14 We had transfers this week and sadly I had to say goodbye to Elder Rockwood and send him off on his way to Basin City, and then said hello to Elder Stugis and welcomed him in to Kennewick! Elder Sturgis is originally from Oklahoma but lived in Midway, Utah before the mission. He has been out for about 4 months and had just finished being trained. I'm gonna keep this one short because of lack of time but one thing that we did this week was went out and tried finding people. Like I said before, there are so many apartment complexes here in Kennewick and we went out and tried knocking some. oh and update: we have not yet found Pedro. I will let you know how that goes this week! I will not give up on finding this dude. In one lesson that we had with Ivan and Ari this week, We swapped roles and they were the missionaries and taught us about the restoration. They NAILED it. They both threw on their Future Missionary tags and had the whole lesson planned out and ...
