Letter from Mar 5

So I said that we got a new car last week, and we did. We first got a 2016 Toyota Corolla. But we got another new car, we won it actually. There was a mission wide competition to whoever had the cleanest car won a new 2018. WE WON!!! We are now driving a new 2018 Corolla, it is nice. We have decided a name for her which is Priscilla, wife of Aquila. So that is pretty exciting.

Now for the real excitement, Ricardo is on date to be Baptized!!!! We have been trying forever to get all the divorce papers figured out and he finally got them filed in court and within 90 days they will be finalized. We set a date for June 2nd but that is most likely going to change and he will be baptized earlier!!! So starting over, We were in a lesson with Ricardo and Sujey and they stopped us and told us they had some news for us and then they went silent for a minute. I thought they were gonna tell us to stop coming or something, it scared me. instead they told us that everything was in and underway!! Also, they will be married on June 1st (also will probably be changed). We went over the baptismal interview questions and he knows everything really well and is ready to make this covenant with his Heavenly Father.

We have been teaching Ricardo ever since I came to this area last October, 5 months ago, and now he is FINALLY on date. He has been preparing for such a long time but now is working towards a day. He is super excited and more than ready to get married and the be baptized.

7 And I do this for a wise purpose; for thus it whispereth me, according to the workings of the Spirit of the Lord which is in me. And now, I do not know all things; but the Lord knoweth all things which are to come; wherefore, he worketh in me to do according to his will.

8 And my prayer to God is concerning my brethren, that they may once again come to the knowledge of God, yea, the redemption of Christ; that they may once again be a delightsome people.

Letter from May 14 We had transfers this week and sadly I had to say goodbye to Elder Rockwood and send him off on his way to Basin City, and then said hello to Elder Stugis and welcomed him in to Kennewick! Elder Sturgis is originally from Oklahoma but lived in Midway, Utah before the mission. He has been out for about 4 months and had just finished being trained. I'm gonna keep this one short because of lack of time but one thing that we did this week was went out and tried finding people. Like I said before, there are so many apartment complexes here in Kennewick and we went out and tried knocking some. oh and update: we have not yet found Pedro. I will let you know how that goes this week! I will not give up on finding this dude. In one lesson that we had with Ivan and Ari this week, We swapped roles and they were the missionaries and taught us about the restoration. They NAILED it. The Great Outdoors

Letter from May 29 What a great week full of great things like the Great outdoors. We had zone conferences this week which were a little different than normal zone conferences, Not a single missionary was wearing a White shirt and tie. The meeting was at the Timbers camp over near Dayton, WA. Who knew that there was actually green here in this part of Washington!! It was beautiful and I felt at home being out in the Woods sitting in a camp chair wearing Jeans and a t-shirt. We had 4 different stations where we would listen to them talk about Gospel topics, like Revelation, coping with difficulties in the mission, and working with our Ward leaders. It was just great being outside in the woods in God's creation and feeling the spirit super strongly. So just last night we found someone named Heilmer, well... He walked right into our hands. He just moved into a home with one of the members about a week ago and is just getting thrown into the Gospel. They took him to the temple and...

SHRIMP!!!

Letter from September 25 What a wonderful week!!! We had lots of success this week. W had 3 investigators at Church, 2 of those people were new investigators and 1 of them is now on date to be baptized on November 4th!!! We sre hoping to move this date up because he was really excited to be at church and accepted to be baptized right away! His name is Pedro Anaya and his wife is Agrapina. Pedro got in a huge car accident a while back and is the only person who survived it. He was in a coma for about 9 hours and says that he saw everything from the picture where Christ comes to the Americas. Ever since his accident, he wanted to find someone who agreed with what he saw and when we showed him that picture, he got super excited and wanted to learn more about the Book of Mormon and our religion. After we got done talking to Pedro and Agrapina On Saturday, we had a dinner appointment with the Florez Family. They both served in the Salt Lake City Mission and are great members. We walked ...
