Taxidermy and Cars

Letter fron January 17

Grandview is just getting better because I am training a new Missionary. I love the fire that Elder Despain has and I am glad that he is letting it all out in Grandview. We have found 8 new people to teach and have a few people preparing to be baptized in the next few months. Elder Despain is an awesome missionary and I am grateful for this time that we have together to learn and to grow.

let me explain the subject a little bit. We ate dinner with one of the members whose name was Greg Christensen. He i guess is a famous hunter and has a museum in his house of alot of the animals that he has shot over his life time. His house was something else.. there were over 200 animals up on his walls which included of an Elephant, giraffe, alligators, the number 1,2,and 3 deer in the world, and many other crazy animals. After he was finished telling us all his hunting stories and showing us his animals, he also wanted to show us his car collection that he had. So he took us out to his Garage and there they were. 18-20 old collector cars all original miles and everything. It was a cool experience to see everything that he had and to hear of his stories from all around the world.

We are still teaching Ricardo and he is telling us that he really wants to be baptized and he also wants to be able to baptize his son, Alexys, when he turns 8. We are still trying to figure everything out with them about a lawyer so he can get a divorce with his exwife and get him and Sujey married. He is really excited to be baptized when it is all figured out.

Scripture of the week: For Zone Conference this week, President had us read 1 Nephi 16-18. In chapter 17 verses 2-3 it says,
"2) And so great were the blessings of the Lord upon us, that while we did live upon raw meat in the wilderness, our women did give plenty of suck for their children, and were strong, yea, even like unto the men; and they began to bear their journeyings without murmurings.
3) And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them; wherefore, he did provide means for us while we did sojourn in the wilderness."

I love you all, Have a good week.

Elder Sager
